Campfires
You may have a campfire without a permit if:
The fire is enclosed in a brick, block, stone, cement, or metal that is 16 inches
high and 24 inches across.
The materials enclosed must be lower than the height of the walls.
The campfire my not be within 20 feet of any structure or combustible materials.
If a charged hoseline is available the campfire must be at least 10 feet from any combustible materials.
There must be no tree branches within 15 feet above the fire.
There must be someone at least 17 years of age in attendance of the fire at all times.
There are to be no campfires if winds exceed 7 MPH.
Only natural growth wood or clean lumber can be burned.

Burn barrels
Burn barrels are NOT permitted at any time.

Outdoor Burning
Outdoor burning can be suspended by the Department of Natural Resources and
the Whatcom County Fire Marshal during extreme fire danger periods.

Ballots are due on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. For your vote to count, ballots must be postmarked that day, or returned to an official ballot drop location by 8 p.m. Ballot return locations in Whatcom County can be found here:

BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS MEETING

Whatcom County Fire District 4 Board of Fire Commissioners met on May 1 to discuss a resolution to place a fire levy lid lift on the August 1, 2023, primary election ballot.  The meeting was held at 7 p.m. at Station 12, 4142 Britton Loop Road and via Zoom Webinar at www.nwfrs.net.
